Many of my friends and I have been playing L5R for close to a year...maybe year and a half now.
It's a complicated card game. More complicated than Magic, but also more rewarding in many ways. There is a story that is affected by the outcomes of tournaments and based on the way the story changes, the cards also change to better represent how things are going in the story.
There are currently 9 different clans: Crab, Crane, Mantis, Spider, Scorpion, Lion, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Dragon.
They all have different specialties, based mainly on how they've progressed in the past in the tournaments and the story.
This post isn't really intended to teach anyone how to play, because that would be decently difficult with only text, but if anyone is interested, you should definitely check it out!
