"I decipher our enemies messages," Nova explained, "I'm the one who warned everyone they were coming, but it doesn't seem I deciphered it quickly enough."

Wolfkin nodded, "mmm, sounds like a tough job" she put the equipment she was useing down. "that'll be all i can do for a while i guess" her eye's dropped down, "so what's it like...to be out of the fireing line?" she asked pulling her mask down as it was becoming hard for her to breath.

“What happened this time?”
The kitchen was bathed in golden sunlight, hollyhocks waving gently outside the white-paned windows. A tall glass of iced tea sat in a sweaty ring of moisture on the table. Aeve’s mother stood, slicing peaches into a bowl.
“Nothing happened it was just that he was scheduled to leave on another mission…”
Now damp plushy purple cushions pressed against Aeve’s face, she clutched one, her arm stretched over the arm of the couch. The light on her answering machine glowed as Brian’s recorded voice repeated the message.
“…be gone for at least six months.” A pause accompanied by a frustrated sigh. “You know how it is…
The voice seemed to bend in half, garble. The cushions fell out from beneath her and suddenly Aeve was running down the corridor around the garden dome.
There was a fog everywhere and a light storm overtook her.
Then she was on a swaying piece of glass, far above a forest. She could see straight down, see the treetops moving as though in a stormy wind…it was making her feel so sick…
Aeve’s eyes opened. She was lying in a graceless heap, her face pressed hard against something that did feel like glass. She blinked. Her limbs felt too heavy to lift.
Lethargy dragged at her but she fought it. There was someone beside her. A woman…
Pain cracked through her skull and Aeve mouthed, “OW!” her eyes watering. She pushed herself up on her hands, her stomach roiling.

Lilia, examining the crystalline walls of their prison for some sort of escape, whipped her head round when she heard Aeve moving. She didn't seem to register Lilia, eyes watering in pain, lifting herself onto her hands and looking distinctly green.
Grimacing in sympathy, Lilia moved over to her and knelt down by her side.
"You okay?" She asked, putting a hand on Aeve's shoulder. "You look like you're about to hurl."

Aeve tried to hold onto the smooth floor as the crystalline room spun, wishing it would stop. The other woman’s voice seemed far away.
"You look like you're about to hurl."
A distinct possibility. Aeve nodded agreement then wished she hadn’t when an iron ball seemed to hit the backside of her eyeballs. By the feel of it, her brain had come loose.
She groaned again with deep feeling then staggered to a corner and vomited. Panting and grateful that she’d eaten almost nothing that day, Aeve rolled onto her back where she’d originally lain. She shut her eyes against the tiny bright lights that studded the ceiling and wished very sincerely for death.
“Where are we?” Aeve asked the other woman very quietly as to not disturb her aching brain, “I remember going to work in the lab today, that’s about it.”

Shimei grinned back and hefted the hunk of scrap metal again. "Shall we go see what we can add to the mess?"

Lilia grimaced in sympathy as Aeve staggered to the corner and threw up, looking away so she wouldn't hurl herself. She turned back when she heard Aeve collapse beside her again.
“Where are we?” She asked very quietly, “I remember going to work in the lab today, that’s about it.”
"Some kind of prison," Lilia answered grimly, "Krystazians ... they captured us and threw us in here."

((LOL...can Lilia and Aeve hear anything outside their crystal prison? I'm not sure where the droid was when it exploded...have to read back over that.))

(Answer would be no. They would feel things shake up though, as Krystazians use vibrations and light to communicate by, so the crystal has to be able to conduct air-waves as vibrations and movement.)
Broken Glass staggered toward the control center of the ship, away from the gleaming scatter of crystalline shards from the guards who had accompanied him. He had to get a warning out to the other ships to expect droids who would explode.

"Personally, I'd rather be fighting," Nova answered, "But we didn't have many soldiers stationed at this base, so we are a bit outnumbered. I'm a decent fighter, but I'm not stupid enough to try to take on more that two Krystazians at a time."

"I am" Wolfkin answered quietly, still checking over the swelling around the base of her metalic arm.

"Some kind of prison," Lilia answered grimly, "Krystazians ... they captured us and threw us in here." Aeve spent a moment digesting this information, her eyes shut against the light. Memories of the chase in the botanical gardens seeped back.
"Shit." She whispered laying one forearm over her eyes.
As long as she didn't move and kept her eyes shut the pain in her head subsided to a dull ache. Which was better than a thundering pain any day, she supposed.
There was a small silence during which the floor seemed to take exception to Aeve and Lilia's existence, vibrating as though it intended to buzz their fillings loose. It built in intensity so that they slid a few inches...or else the floor simply skated under them for that distance.
It finally subsided. Aeve, arm still over her face, asked Lilia, "Did you feel that, too? Or was it just another damned side effect?"
((I don't think she normally swears this much. She IS pretty miserable.))

"Well that's a bit different," Nova laughed, "Midas Sinen are much better in combat than most humans. In order for you to be considered stupid, you'd have to take on about 10 at a time. Now that would be a feat!"

Shimei was brought up short by the sight of a Krystazian in her path...what looked to be a Krystazian anyway. It wasn't moving. She approached cautiously, then stopped and chuckled to herself as she realized it was simply a very good work of art.
She scanned the corridor, then began to move more quickly as she caught sight of something glinting ahead that was not part of the ship. Or didn't seem like it should be. She turned a corner and stopped again as her boots crunched. Krystal shards...the remains of Krystazian guards or warriors perhaps. If they were here, then perhaps the captives might be close by too.
She glanced behind herself. "Reagan?"

Reagan chuckled to himself like a kid with a new toy.
"That's brilliant! I have got to find it and take it with me!" he exclaimed quietly as he rounded the corner. His boots crunched on the shards but he took no notice. He looked around for the droid - it was nowhere to be seen, as predicted. A blast like that would have used most of its power and the little reserve it had, it would have used to go and find a power outlet somewhere quiet to recharge. Excellent little machines, he thought.
"Those prisoners might be about. Lets have a look shall we?" and at random, he pressed a button on the wall, looking round to see which door it had opened.

"No ..." Lilia assured Aeve, "I felt it." The trembling had felt to her like the vibrations in a ship after firing the cannons, or the recoil in a gun. She wondered what that meant ... if anything. Perhaps the Krystazians had entered into open fire with those that weren't dead or captured.
There was silence for another moment, then came the whir of machinery and the sound of crystal singing, like a door sliding open. Nothing happened to the walls of their crystal prison, but it had sounded nearby.
"Did you hear that?" Lilia asked Aeve eagerly, "Maybe someone's found a way round them ..."

Nova laughed, "Let's hope not!"
Yawning, he asked, "Are you almost ready to go? I'll have to check the radar down here, but the Krystatians should be gone by now."

"Nope," Reagan said as he poked his head in the cell door to find it empty. He pressed another button. "How about... this one!"

Nodding, Nova scanned the room, quickly locating the radar console against the wall.
He punched in all three of his passwords, after which he was brought to the menu screen.
"Four," he said to himself. The option that opened the radar.
After a moment, the radar popped up, with no signs of any ships in the area.
"Alright, let's get going. Make sure to bring that first aid kit along."
He picked up a remote from the radar console, and activated the ship he was the most familiar with. The AXC-3100.
It was a medium sized ship, originally designed for surprise stealth attacks. It had the best maneuverability of any ship in its class, and the most devices of any ship for hiding itself from enemy detection. Its armor and shielding capabilities were also excellent. The only real downside was its firepower, which was limited to a single medium-powered plasma cannon.
"I'm gonna check the ships cargo. If it's not well supplied, we're going to have to get a few guns, and maybe a few more grenades."

Aeve winced at the high-pitched whine of crystal.
"Did you hear that?" Lilia asked Aeve eagerly, "Maybe someone's found a way round them ..."
"Maybe." Aeve lay still, listening.
Another ringing whine. She took her arm away from her eyes and surveyed their prison. Still no change.
She flopped her arm back over her eyes.
"Tell me if we get rescued."

Um, it won't be metal clashing, but crystal singing...actually. And, Kage, I hope you read this, becasue there is a ship still docked with the space station, and most of the Krystazians are headed back for it right now. And Shimei and Reagan and Aeve andLilia are on it. Maybe the sensors can't read the Krystal ships?Shimei shrugged and tried another button, Krystal sang through the air, the walls beside them parting and revealing two women. "Tell me if we get rescued. one of them was saying. Shimei grinned. "You're rescued. You coming out or not?"
