Alright. The rules for ABC stories are:
1. The first person starts with the letter A, and the next person does B, and the next does C, and so on. 2. Posts can be as long as you want, but no double posting.
I'll start this one.

Baerg could be seen as a normal town to anyone who happened to pass through, but the town had a secret from the past that haunted the residents every night.

Countless times, the residents of Baerg found themselves huddled together in Andrew's basement, hiding from the mysterious threat that stalked through their streets after the sun had set. One night though, Andrew and a few of his friends met secretly under the basement stairs to plan to get rid of the towns curse, once and for all.

Down, below the earth, as they heard wind howling and the moaning of the trees, the villigers planned the demise of the mysterious creature of the night. but no one knew exectly what to do, because they had never seen the monster, only heard it and saw its destruction in the morning. They concluded that someone should stay above ground the next night to gather more information about the beast.

Eric, a wannabe hero with martyr-complex, volunteered for the task. After a short discussion, everyone else agreed that Eric was the man for the job. Next they worked out where he could hide whilst on his espionage mission. The next night, Eric hid in the " Saddam Hussein" hole that he had spent the day digging. There was enough room for him to stick his head out, yet still be able to duck inside if the monster was too close for comfort (Not that the hole was comfortable to begin with.) Now, all he had to do was wait for the arrival of the beast that haunted everyone's nightmares.

from the moment the sun set, eric was getting nervous. the wind picked up and the sky grew pitch dark. eric grew cold with worry, though he was sweating profusly, then he heard a knocking on the roof of his hastily dug shelter. a slow, booming knock. habit over came eric and he called out, "who is it" a voice answered above the wind, "it is me, open up!" eric lept up of his stool and opened the trapdoor to let Andrew in. "I wasn't going to let you have all of the fun!" he said with a smirck.

Getting adjusted to the now extremely cramped hiding hole, the heard the loud stomping of what could only be the nightmarish beast that they needed to spy on. Eric and Andrew ducked down and watched the monster through a tiny crack from within their hiding place.
The monster had four sequoia sized legs, and walked in a manner very similar to an elephant. At the top of these monstrous legs was a body also like that of an elephant. Essentially, the entire beast resembled and elephant apart from the razor sharp spikes, horns, and teeth that reflected and almost glowed in the moonlight.
The beast attacked a house, destroying it in a few rough head-rams and slashes of its claws. It moved onto the next house, where it removed the roof, and much of the walls, with another slash. The living room furniture, that had once adorned what could be considered a very respectable modern high-class interior, was launched into the backyard swimming pool, which was now clearly visible, no longer blocked from view by the now demolished house.

"Hide!" yelped Eric, suddenly losing his cool and ducking down into the hole. Unfortunately, he squeezed Andrew out into the night. The monster, presently not involved in destroying another house, caught sight of him and bellowed. Andrew yelled and ran...directly at the monster. Behind him was tall fencing that he couldn't get over but that the monster could crush with ease. But if he could slip past the monster, he might make it to his cellar. It was his only hope.

Insane with fear, he ran directly through the monster's legs and under its massive body. The monster started to turn around, narrowly missing crushing Andrew with one of its gigantic feet. Andrew kept running, and yelled "Open the door!" to the man on the other side of the door.
As he approached the opening doors, ran turned to see that the monster was being distracted by Eric, who, regretably, might not make it through the night.
It seemed as though the same thought had run through Eric's mind, because he turned and ran as fast as he could away from the towering behemoth.
Seeing now that his friend needed help, he ran into the cellar to get the few makeshift explosives that they had made out of alcohol and rags.

Just as he grabbed them to run back up. He heard a horrible scream from outside...but it wasn't Eric's voice.

"Kyle!!" it was a woman's voice, "Kyle!!"
Kyle came running from the basement, "Anna, is that you?"
"Help me, Kyle!!!"
Andrew ran up the stairs with the explosives. The monster appeared to be confused in some way, and it was turning from Anna to Eric, as though deciding which of them it would kill, and probably eat.
Its brain obviously wasn't equipped with a very powerful decision-making "section," because it ignored Andrew long enough for him to throw several of his explosives at it.
The monster started on fire and let out an incredible roar that echoed deafeningly. It fell to the ground, nearly crushing Eric, who was able to evade its falling body by mere inches.
Andrew, Eric, Anna, and Kyle ran back into the basement, leaving the monster to twist and turn as the fire burned out slowly.
The monster moaned loudly a few more times, and the echoes seemed to last longer to Andrew. He then realized that maybe they weren't echoes.
"I think there might be more of them!" he shouted to everyone.
"Wha--What makes you think that?" Eric's brother, Scott, asked.

"Look! I don't think it anymore, I know it!" he shouted back, pointing dramatically toward the edge of the city. "And I believe we had a 'baby', 'cause here come the adults!"

"Not again! Why do I have to think everything up!?! Just use fire on them too!"

"Oh, really? You think we actually have enough? There must be hundreds of them!"

"Perhaps that is so," drawled a shadowy figure, "but then, I have hundreds of explosive darts. They won't live for long."
The figure moved out from the side of the building, smiling at them. "Greetings. I am the hunter of these beasts. If you like, you can all take cover. I shall be very busy, and might not be able to protect you, should you happen to come between me and the Panustas."

Quickly, they shuffled back into the basement to let the stranger deal with the monsters.
"That guy was weird," Andrew said, "Still, I have to admit, he saved our asses."

"Right then," the hunter said with a smile, watching the humans drift back into their shelters, "on with the hunt!"
He smiled again, and turned to the advancing Panustas, taking out a grenade launcher. "One Panusta bar-b-que comin' up!"

Surging with energy, the hunter fired round after round of grenades at the monster's onslaught. Even as the lead Panustas fell dead, the ones in back kept coming, undetered.

Then one of the largest Panustas trumpeted loudly, charging on a diagonal across the line of advancing Panustas. The line slowed, then stopped and began to retreat.
"Ah, Gorno recognized me. Ah well. Another time. I will get them all, eventually." The hunter smiled, his teeth bright in the night...and sharply pointed.

Under the light of the moon, the hunter looked out at the barely visible horizon. The sun would come up in only a few hours.

"Very well, very well," the hunter sighed. "The Panustas will not be back tonight, and I have time to get under cover before the dawn...if need be." He smiled again, and faded back into the shadows.

Xena, one of the little girls there, stared up at him with big eyes. "What was Mister Andrew? Are those monsters back again?"
