Tanyojitan was not surprised at finding Seopala to be damaged. Many towns and cities were hurt worse from storms and the ravages of bandits, and Seopala was just one more in a long line of towns he had visited. He moved unhurriedly down the main street, unobserved by most he passed by. Even here the Elf-magic and clothing blended him into the background of dusty road, weathered wood, and grey stone.
While the streets were far from empty, few of those upon them were leaning toward the side of the good. He glanced aside at an alley as his keen ears picked up a faint cry. A young woman was dragging herself toward the road, her face and body battered and bloody. This...he could not ignore.
Tanyojitan moved toward her quickly, just catching her as she began to fall forward in a faint. With great care, he lifted her and held her in the angle of one arm and stepped back onto the street. If a fight came to him, he would be at a disadvantage, but still, with one sword and one arm, he would not be killed.
As he got further down the street, he noticed a flow of wounded or hurt people moving toward one building, and a trickle of unhurt humans coming out. That would be his destination now. He shifted through the crowd with only some of his usual ease, hampered by the woman on his arm, but he reached the door and stepped inside, looking around.

"Nene!" Ellone's gruff voice carried easily over the noise. Nene looked up, having just finished tying the little boy's bandage, and saw the Chief Priestess indicating the entrance to the temple with a jerk of her head. Nene looked over and saw that yet more wounded were waiting. She sighed. It didn't seem to matter how many they healed, there were twice as many injured.
Nene stood and rinsed her hands in a bowl of water stood nearby. With a quick tug at the circ covering her tawny hair to make sure it was on straight, she walked over to the entrance and gave a small bow.
"How may I be of service?"

Tanyojitan nodded at the human woman who spoke to him, but could not return her courtesy bow. A priestess. She looked tired. He glanced around at the busy room, then back to the priestess.
"This woman, Lady Priestess." He gestured with his free hand. "I do not know how badly she has been beaten." He looked around again, his eyes grave. "It is possible that you need help."

Nene smiled wearily. "Unfortunately all the help we have is occupied," she gestured round the room at the many priestesses and volunteers, "If any of us are not working it is only because they are too exhausted to be of any use."
She spotted an empty pallet near the end of the room, and waved for the elven man to follow her, "Follow me, sir, and I will do what I can for this woman."

Tanyo followed the priestess, wondering if he had perhaps not been clear enough that he was offering to help. He laid the woman on the pallet and turned back to the priestess.
"Perhaps, then, it is possible I may help while others rest?"
That should be blunt enough. It was indeed rude, but....she had not seemed to understand.

Nene looked up at him, and nodded, "If you have knowledge of healing then any help you can offer would be most appreciated."

Tanyojitan nodded back, reminding himself that most humans were blunt, and not to be polite. "Yes. To sew a wound, bandage and cleanse, I have knowledge of." He glanced around, then looked back at the Priestess. "Help for a time, I shall."
He moved to the nearest new patient in the door, assisting them inside and taking care of their problem...a few minor burns.

Nene turned back to the woman the elf had brought. She was unconscious, her pallor faint and pale, and her breathing shallow. As Nene began to wipe away the blood, she saw that sweat shone on the woman's forehead.
She grimaced as the full exent of the wounds was slowly revealed. It looked to be several deep cuts down her face and side, as well as bruises covering most of her body. Blood, pus and sweat and glued the woman's dress to her.
Nene turned and signaled for a novice. She instructed that warm, soapy water be brought, as well as needle, thread, antiseptic and bandages. The novice nodded and scurried away.
While she waited, Nene smoothed the woman's hair from her brow. This would take all her healing skill, and much of the energy she had left. But the young priestess was determined to save this woman.

Tanyojitan let his senses range outward as he went about helping. There was another one who was assisting the priestesses...an...odd sense was about him. And then the soldier near the door. That sense was...opposite. The soldier was not what he looked like. Tanyo kept an eye on him as he carefully stitched up a gaping cut.
Nothing was as it had been. He shook his head and went on to the next person.

The warm water Nene had ordered slowly unstuck the woman's dress from her wounds. After several minutes of patiently bathing the wounds, Nene was able to peel back the woman's dress and attend to the wounds.
She applied firm pressure to cut off bleeding, and made sure to clean the wounds thoroughly, applying antiseptic to prevent infection. She asked an orderly to maintain the pressure while she prepared to begin the stitching.

Juska Rei sprawled on his seat in the weak sun. He enjoyed the feeling of its warmth, as he knew it would not last. The skies had darkened, and sunlight was rare. He lounged comfortably, a tankard of the finest firebrand whisky resting on the table and his horse hitched to the rail nearby. Most people didn't worry Juska, he wasn't worth worrying about and made sure to look it.
He watched the steady stream of injured people stumbling into the temple across the large, busy road without much conviction. Although he felt mildly concerned, there was nothing he could do about it. Juska squinted upwards. Too late to start out now. He'd leave his journey till morning. It was time to leave this wretched country and seek a fairer clime and a place of less danger to spent his days.
His interest was piqued by the site of a squad of soldiers, marching toward the temple. He sat up a little, watching them march by in formation. They weren't wearing any uniform or insignia he was familiar with. They halted outside. The Sergeant, by the pip on his shoulder, removed his helmet and went inside, leaving the squadron to stand by the door. And still the wounded were coming.
A fight broke out at the table behind him. Juska sighed, moved his chair round so as not to be in the way and slumped back into his seat again to watch the events unfolding. The fight behind him was quickly over and the combatants dispersed in a hurry. Perhaps fearing the soldiers?

Kecek finished helping those whom he could, and stood up when he realized that the rest of the wounded were either taken care of or too badly injured for him to be able to effectively help.
Sighing, he took a quick look around, and once again his eyes caught the soldier whose leg had been injured.
He was being stitched up. He must've been injured somehow.
He was definitely evil, but that shouldn't matter now. Nobody deserved to be attacked like that. All of these people had been attacked in the chaos resulting from the darkness.
The man didn't seem to be too suspicious, but Kecek was going to keep an eye on him regardless.

Nene tied off the thread and cut the extra away, then waved the novie back so she could reexamine the wounds. The stitching should hold, but the woman would need a lot of care and attention to make sure she recovered fully.
But she cannot sleep here ... Nene thought, and beckoned novice closer.
"Ask someone over here to move her to a separate room and find --"
"But, Priestess," the novice interrupted her, "There are no separate rooms. Everywhere is full!"
"Then she can sleep in my chambers. Get someone to move her there and find her a spare set of clothes." Nene replied.
"Yes, Priestess," the novice bowed.

Criana was getting tired of constantly changing the form of her "injured" leg. But she knew she'd never get any information and probably end up revealing herself if she just left now. Deciding her would was probably "healed" enough that she could walk, she decided to walk around and attempt to help others. Perhaps she could over hear some information that would be useful to her. So she got up and asked one of the nearby priestesses if she could help with some of the non-magical healing.

Tanyojitan finished with the latest patient and stretched slowly. There were more coming, but all were, strangely enough, not hurt in such a way that he could help them. He looked around, seeing that the priestess had finished with the woman, the stranger who had been helping was also done, and that the soldier who did not feel right had been healed. He turned toward the door in time to see another soldier entering...a Captain.

Satisfied that the novice would take care of the woman, Nene turned to head back to the line of wounded waiting, when she saw a Captain enter. He was not wounded, and looked around contemptously.
Before Nene could do anything, however, Ellone bustled over.
"May I help you?" she asked.

Juska remained in his seat. Nobody was paying him much heed and he in turn ignored his surroundings for the most part, just keeping a wary eye out for trouble in general. But there was nobody he knew here, so he was certain for a while he'd be unchallenged.
He watched the soldiers with interest. They'd broken formation and were now lounging against the wall, chatting amongst themselves and one or two had brought out a tobacco pouch which was now being shared out. They looked as though they expected their Captain to take some time.
He squinted at them, trying to decide where they were from. Their uniforms were unusual, a style not native to this country and there was an odd insignia, a strange looking creature with eight legs and some sort of curled over tail, and pincers. Not an animal he recognised either. Their packs were old and dusty, they looked travel-worn. They must have come a long way.

Tanyojitan's eyes grew cold as he recognized the insignia on the uniform of the Captain. Scorpion. He took a light step back and to the side, putting his back to a corver of the room and letting himself fade into the background.
He watched the coming confrontation between the priestess and the Captain closely. If hostilities broke out, he would move to save the preistess. Elves were not well known in the lowlands, especially Mountain Elves, and that should give him a further edge over the Captain.

Criana knew that these men were not the royal guards she was trying to impersonate, She knew of this crew but as a royal solider she shouldn't so she restrained herself. But given a chance she would strike and kill as many as possible, preferably still keeping her identity hidden to gather information but she would forsake that mission to strike these men down...they deserved it for their deeds.

Drickagon made his way back to Timil Deeps. He hadn't reported back to the master in a few days, and he felt that now would be a good time to inform the master of recent events.
The young man Drickagon encountered while in Séopala had been somewhat powerful. It was unlikely that he would prove a challenge for Drickagon, but a few of the others would probably have trouble with him. Though, there was no way to be sure.
As he treaded over the muddy earth towards Timil Deeps, he contemplated where Criana and Zjha might be.
He shook his head.
They'd better not ruin the plan...

Ellone bustled up to the Captain of the soldiers in a friendly manner, greeting him with the customary bow. However, Nene and the other priestesses who knew Ellone well noticed the slight wariness in her voice when she greeted him,
"Hello. How may we help you?"

Kecek watched as the priestess greeted the Captain. The man didn't appear hostile, but most of the others appeared frightened or even angered by his presence.
