Night had long fallen over the town. Its fortifications gleaming orange in the last of the sunlight as it filtered through smoke. Soldiers prowled the outer walls always alert for attack. Scrapyard on the inside, however was as busy as it ever was. The coolness of the evening brought the resients out for business.
The taverns were full to overflowing, such as they were. The brothels were doing a roaring trade. The marketplace was full, so much so that one could barely make headway against the press of bodies, could hardly buy for the shouting and bargaining, could hardly carry your purchases without bumping people and risking attack... or having your items stolen.
Kids pick-pocketed, mercs met around tables, free to discuss their trade without being overheard amongst the noise. Working girls plied their trade, earning more money than anyone. Decent hardworking people... well there weren't any, not ones you could trust anyway.
Stone sat in the shadows, face hidden by darkness, the rest of him visible only to somebody who was paying attention. Most people didn't which was ultimately their downfall when the lost something valuable. Like their lives.
It had been a quiet day, he'd arrived the night before, and found a place to sleep with a locked door. He set booby traps, the sort that'd take your arm off before laying his head down for a well earned sleep and had slept well all throughout the stinking hot day. This land used to be known as Mexico at one point. Now it was just another day's work or wandering.
Gunner was by his side as always, silent, alert and always ready for any command from his master. He didn't do too well in this heat, which was ust one of the reasons why Stone travelled only at night around here. But at night, the wolf-like dog was as ready for action as his master. Always prepared, just in case.
Stone's table remained undisturbed. People didn't go looking for trouble and one glance at the well muscled, very well armed man with the dangerous expression, plus the wolf thing kept them well away.
The table was set for one, he was half way through his dinner. Or breakfast for that matter. He dropped the steak down for Gunner. The table overlooked the water, which reflected the moonlight a thousand times on its wavelets. Several junky boats rocked at anchor and before him, some of the working girls were dancing, entertaining the men in the outdoor setting and hooking them in.
One waltzed over to Stone's table, this one looked lonely like he hadn't seen a girl in a while. She swayed her hips suggestively, gazing at him in lustful intensity. Stone kept eating. She came closer, leaning over the table, her breasts almost spilling out of her small costume. A wash of perfume swept over him.
A low growl, starting in the back of the throat caused her to freeze in horror. It was coming from under the table. Stone didn't even look up but said, quietly to the animal, "Wait." that was all.
The girl backed off carefully, and as soon as she dared, turned her back and darted back to the reletive safety of the crowd.
Stone remained undisturbed.

It may have been night, the sky an endless void of darkness, but Scrapyard was still full of light. Harsh orange glare spilled out of the tavern doorways, bright lights lit the market place, a more seductive, yellow glow glimmered in the brothels, dim light peeked out of the few permanent residences, and all of it reflected into a thousand glittering shards by the murky water.
Wherever there was light, there were shadows.
They crisscrossed over doorways, glowered in alleyways, wrapped themselves into corners. If you knew how to use the shadows, you could slip unnoticed through the city, become invisible. People were afraid of the shadows though. They didn't understand that they could be friends as well as enemies.
One Shadow held herself against the wall, unnoticed by the people that swarmed around her, eyes locked on the working girls. Until yesterday she'd been one of them, for a few days anyway. She felt disgusted and dirty, hated herself for degrading herself that way - but she'd done it before, and it was the quickest way to earn money.
Reaching a hand into her pocket, Shadow felt the cool metal of her hard-earned coins as justifcation for what she'd done. Money was life in this world, and now she had enough to ensure her survival for another few days.
This was longest she'd stayed in one place for a long time. Usually she could scavange enough in one day or two to keep her going and then she'd disappear, unnoticed as when she'd arrived. In Scrapyard however, despite the town's name the easiest way to make money wasn't to scavange but to pick pockets and prostitute yourself.
So that's what she done.
She would leave soon, but for now she watched the girls she'd worked beside. She hadn't spoken to any of them, didn't know their names, but she knew that their trade, as well as lucrative, could be dangerous. Sometimes customers were rough - too rough. So Shadow would be their guardian angel for a night, since they didn't actually have any real guardians.
She watched one girl - a particularly sought after buxom blonde - saunter seductively to a lone stranger at a waterfront table. Shadow couldn't see the man, hidden as he was like her - Oh, the irony - but she could see plainly the alluring flutter of the girl's eyelashes turn to an expression of terror.
Shadow's eyes narrowed.
The girl back off, then turned and all but ran back to the crowd of men who were interested.
Shadow relaxed a little, and continued her vigil.

Will had just arrived in town the day prior. Places for travelers to stay was fairly rare, especially for those without money, but some in the area had heard of Will's "heroism" and would offer him discounted rates, occasionally even free room and board, but never for more than a night.
He only hoped he could be so lucky in this town.
It must've been approaching sundown. He could never be sure, but his internal clock hinted at it, and he'd always felt a certain warped sense of peace around this time.
Luck seemed to favor him as he turned the corner into what appeared to be an inn. One of his mother's best friends was standing behind a makeshift counter, washing a glass.
"Long time, no see," he said. He could never remember her name.
"Will!? How are you?"
"I suppose I'm getting by. It's been a while, how are you?"
"Same as ever."
"Hey..uh.."
"Eileen."
"Ha, you caught me."
"You've always been terrible with names. Everyone knows that. What do you need?"
"Just need a place to stay for the night, but I've got no money. Food'd be nice, too."
"Of course! We don't get many travelers this time of year. I'll get you some biscuits and water, and when you're done you can take your pick of the rooms upstairs."
Then, she whispered, "Just don't let me catch you with any of those prostitutes. You know how your mother felt about that, and I don't approve either!"
Will guessed Eileen was as close to family as he had anymore. His mom used to call her his godmother, but he really had no idea what it meant.
He just nodded, and took a seat at one of the corner tables. He wasn't quite ready to sleep yet.

Stone watched the girl scuttle away back into the crowd. Shame, it had been a while and he could certainly enjoy a woman's company but not now, not here. Too risky. He finished his meal slowly, his keen observation picking out the people who obviously didn't want to be noticed. A kid on the rooftops. A girl hiding in the shadows nearby watching the dancers. Interesting, he thought, perhaps she batted for the other side and was plucking up the courage to try one.
Stone also noticed a scuffle in an alleyway across the square, a man running along the docks. Another small figure fishing off the warf.
And then he realised he was expecting trouble. Something was amiss. He looked this way and that, almost as his dog would have sniffing the breeze. Gunner was standing, rigid and listening, he too sensed a problem.
Stone rose and began to sprint. The whistle grew louder. He collided with the girl, knocking her off her feet and lay over the top of her, holding her in his arms and yelling "Down, Gunner!"
The world behind him exploded into a hot, searing, noisy brightness. And pain. Plenty of that.

Not quite sure what's going on, so hope this is okay ...
Shadow wondered if perhaps her vigil was unncessary. A few of the girls had gone off with gents who were - well, not nice. No one was nice here, and particularly not men who picked up dancers, but they weren't the rough types. The girls would be relatively safe with them.
Shadow relaxed a bit, looking idly round at the other goings on in Scrapyard.
Her eyes fell on the man the blonde dancer had approached but given up. He was stood, and what she could see of him was tense, like he was searching for trouble. For the first time Shadow noticed the huge dog at his feet, also tense, ears pricked.
Shadow frowned. Something was clearly wrong.
A strange whistle sounded behind her. She turned round, eyes scanning the crowd, but she couldn't see anything. A few steps forward, out of the shadows, her protection, looking round again. The whistle grew louder.
Something hard collided with her from behind, knocking her flat on her face. Her head smashed off the ground and she hissed in pain, vision temporarily blacking out. Whatever had hit her was pinning her to the ground - then she realised it was someone, a man probably, lying on top of her, arms locked round her.
There was a hoarse yell, "Down, Gunner!"
Shadow tried to wrestle free but the man's grip was too strong. What was going on?
Then the world exploded. White light, so bright Shadow had to screw her eyes shut, indinstinct but loud noise. And pain.

Yep you got it no probs - I don't have a set plan (don't think Stone has either) so lets enjoy the fun!
Stone realised he couldn't hear. He could see out of his peripheral vision figures moving, some slowly and some fast. He clenched his teeth from the pain, and then realised he was lying on top of the girl. He scrambled backward off her but was unable to get to his feet. Gunner was nearby, he looked injured but not badly, but he wasn't happy. There was a ringing in Stone's ears now, and he shook his head to clear it. He had to get out of here.
He tried to stand and grunted involuntarily as pain crippled his movements. He doggedly forced himself to his feet, carefully trying to evaluate through feel exactly how much trouble he was in. His back was afire with agony, as was his left leg.
His eyes swept the area, several bodies both men and women were lying charred and barely recognisable. A crater of sorts was all that was left of the building on his right, but the brothel was still standing as was the tavern. Unable to hear the screams, he used his eyes to draw information in.
People ran, some dragging themselves with painful injuries thanks to the explosion.
It looked like some sort of revenge attack as it seemed only one building was targeted. And the whistle, that meant something had been fired.
I really need to get out of here, he thought.
Barely a couple of seconds had passed since the explosion. Stone swayed on his feet.

Shadow's ears were filled with a hollow ringing. The man pinning her to the ground was heavy, and air beginning to be crushed from her lungs. She gasped with relief as he pushed himself off her, scrabbling a few feet forwards on her hands and knees. She knelt there for a few minutes, waiting for the ringing in her ears to fade.
Slowly she pushed herself to her feet, but she didn't seem to be injured. There were large, bloody scrapes up her arms and legs, and judging from the stinging on her head too, but nothing was broken. The man had presumably protected her from any serious damage.
Shadow wondered if that was intentional.
She looked round curiously at her saviour, and though she hadn't seen his face before she recognised his clothes and the huge dog stood near him. The man from the watefront.
Faint screams began to penetrate, and Shadow glanced round to ascertain what had happened. A crater of rubble lay off to her left, people covered in blood and dust running as far as possible. Nothing else seemed to be damaged.
A bomb then, probably. Targeting the one building.
I should have left as soon as I had the money, Shadow thought.
A movement caught her eye and she turned to see the man swaying on his feet. His expression was contorted in pain, and his left side was covered in blood. Shadow considered for a moment. She didn't know the man. As a rule, staying away from strangers was generally key to survival.
Despite that, whether he'd meant to or not the man had protected her. She owed him one. Shadow deliberated a second longer, then darted to the man's side and reached out to steady him.

Blood on the wind. The deep bass rumble of an explosion. It drew her like a storm would, pulling her out of the alley she had been following and into the open square. Torn bodies, wounded men and women, soft screams and moans... Blood on the ground.
She moved out toward the fallen, peering from face to face on the off chance that one was alive and needed help...that one was the man she'd come hunting. Too near the blast. All dead. And nothing useful to salvage. She shook her head and began to spiral out, looking for wounded, searching among the living for the one who might have set off the explosion.
The man she hunted did so like to destroy people, buildings.
On the outer edge of her circut she slowed for a moment as she took in a couple who seemed to have been caught by the shockwave of the blast; the man was clearly wounded. Help them?
If they had any information that was useful, and if they accepted her offer of assistance, she might help them...
She shook her head again, wondering where that thought had come from. A breath of wind stirred the hot air, swirling smoke and dust around her, and she breathed out sharply, holding off a sneeze. Even now there were people filtering back into the marketplace, and she had seen no one who might have set off the blast. Narrowing her eyes against the grit carried by the breeze, she moved forward again, toward the two who stood nearby.
Would she help?

As the ringing faded, Stone realised he was hearing voices. Not screams as he thought he would hear. But hoarse, primeval yelling. Drawing ever closer. He looked down at the girl, vaguely suprised to see her trying to steady him, the pain seemed to have lessened all other feeling. Gunner whined nearby, clearly unsure about the girl.
"Come on." he said, his deep voice quiet and cracked with pain. Stone began to move, willing himself against the agony as his legs and back burned in the air, eyes stinging and watering fiercly as smoke curled around them. It was dark, and the yelling came closer. War cries, he identified. The short, sharp stutter of a gun echoed in the streets. Now there were screams.
Stone sped up, moving as fast as he could force himself to. They had to get out of there, and fast. He was a sitting duck like this and he cursed himself for weakness. Stumbling he moved toward the docks, passing them and moving into the deeper shadows. He fumbled on his belt, withdrawing his own weapon.

Rain stopped as the man and woman began to move away...quickly. Her head came up and she turned as the sounds of a mob coming toward the square burst through the smoke. Hesitating only an instant, she whirled and ran toward the docks, slipping from shadow to shadow. If the mob spotted her, the water or the lower roofs of the warehouses would offer good escape routes.
Still, it wouldn't hurt to be ready.
Her smile flashed in the darkness, gleaming like the curving silver edge of her sword as she drew it from the sheathe over her shoulder. The alleys were tighter toward the docks, better for the closework of a sword. Let them come!

"Come on."
The words were a whisper, and dimmed by the ringing still in her ears. Shadow looked up, unsure if the man were speaking to her or the dog, which was clearly ready to attack her if the order was given.
Screams and cries were sounding the streets. The bomb had clearly just been the beginning; looking round, Shadow saw several faces as grimed with dirt and dust as her own must be, twisting into fearful, agonised expressions. People were running. Gunshots echoed not far way. The stench of death and destruction filled the air. Smoke still drifted up in twisted grey tendrils, and this area of the city was almost unrecognisable now with the rubble and debris.
Shadow suddenly realised the man was moving away, fast, fumbling for a weapon. That was an idea; reaching into her boot, she pulled out the long, sharp knife she always carried with her. Not a gun, but still a weapon.
She looked after the man. She rather thought he had been speaking to the dog. But she couldn't stay here. So she starting running.

It was as if the world had slowed down so he could see everything that happened. Will saw a bright light and had just enough time to jump out of his seat to the floor under the table as other of the patrons fell down much less willingly, most of which being struck by the ceiling as it collapsed from the destruction done to the walls.
It was only moments before Will felt the physical effects of the blast end, pushing his way out from under the table and looking about for whatever may have caused this, and more importantly, others who, like him, remained conscious after the blast.
There was no one in the inn who wasn't buried by boards or beds from the second floor. He guessed that the table barely had barely protected him, judging by the footlocker he spotted on top of it, and its two collapsed legs.
He stepped out of the pile of debris and looked to the street. A few people were running. He didn't know where, but he knew why, and that was enough for him. He ran after.

Stone forced his body to movement, tuning his mind away from the pain as he taught himself to long ago. Gunner wimpered quietly, the dog had suffered burns and cuts too and Stone reached a finger down to reassure his best friend as they moved. He became aware of a vehicle and the girl behind him at the same time.
Trotting up to the ancient automotive he was pleased to see the key in the ignition and realised the engine was still running. Somebody wasn't planning to be more than a moment. Painfully he bent and heaved the large dog into the back seat of the open roofed jeep, and then almost collapsed as a wave of agony from bending his damaged back hit him. He wiped a hand across his brow and tried to force the pain from him. He had to survive.

Hope you don't mind if I step in and join the fun. Look for Gareth's bio in the character bio area if you'd like a description.
Gareth was slowly walking towards the tavern to get a much needed drink and night of rest when he was suddenly blasted backwards by a blinding blast. He flew into the wall of a nearby building and winced as his head rebounded off the stones. As he hit the ground, he knew that the last place he wanted to be was in the area when more trouble arrived, since he wasn't exactly unrecognizable by people he wanted to avoid for the next few years, at least if he didn't find some more of that black liquid that made his hair all one color. He picked up his sunglasses from the ground and was pleased to see they were unharmed. That's definitely one of the last things I need to happen right now, he thought and slid them back over his eyes. He was glad that he didn't need to rely on his eyes alone for maneuvering around as he felt pain bounding down the nerves to his brain from the brightness of the blast.
He slowly stood up, testing his joints and limbs to make sure there wasn't any serious damage done to them. There were screams all around him and he had the urge to tell everyone to shut up but knew that would be counterproductive. He wondered who, as well as why, set the bomb, if only to pat them on the back before sliding a sai into the space between the spine and brain. As he looked around, he saw two figures, as well as a sizable dog, racing for a car then get inside. It was a smaller woman supporting a man who was leaving a trail of blood on the ground from the tavern to the car. There was another form following them though it didn't seem to be trying to kill them but follow them in hopes of escaping whatever danger might come next. Not a bad plan, he thought and made his way towards the car as well.

Shadow knew it was seem like she was following the man, but at this point she really didn't care. If she stayed here for much longer, she'd probably end up dead so she, like the man, was taking the most accessible route away. If he didn't like it, well, from the looks of his injuries there wouldn't be much he could about it do right now.
Her ankle throbbed, pain shooting up her leg as she clambered over piles of debris but she ignored it. She had to. If she gave into the pain, she was giving in to death. Up ahead, she saw the man heaving his dog into the open back of an old jeep. He didn't look good; there were trails of sweat through the dirt and grime coating his face, and looked like he was breathing heavily.
Shadow hesitated. She'd already tried to help once, and he hadn't much appreciated it. But he had saved her from serious injury, if not worse.
She shook her head. He didn't want her help. She started running again, but as she passed the front of the jeep the dog whined loudly. Shadow turned. The large hound was staring at her in what she would swear was a pleading way. Its master appeared to be passed out across the driver's seat.
She stopped. The dog whined again.
"I must be out of my mind," Shadow muttered to herself, twisting round on her heel.
With a little effort she managed to heave the unconscious man over to the passenger's seat, then clambered into the driver's side. The key was in the ignition, engine running. Shadow didn't hesitate, throwing the car into reverse and slamming her foot down. The wind whipped through her now grimy hair as she turned the car round, then thrust the gear into first.
"Hey!"
She glanced over her shoulder, and saw an older man running for the car. "That's my jeep!"
Shadow swore, and glanced down at the man. As she put her foot down and the car sped off, she muttered, "You had better appreciate this."

Will gained distance on the people running in the street, as one of them was a limping woman and the other seemed concerned with his dog. It took a moment, but Will spotted where they were heading. A jeep.
He quickened his pace, not wanting to miss the ride. He saw the man enter the jeep and collapse shortly after. As he came within reach of the jeep, the girl moved into the driver's seat and immediately start the jeep and hurriedly shift as the jeep's owner came out of nowhere, "Hey, that's my jeep!"
Will sprinted with a last burst of energy, grabbing hold of one of the back roll-cage bars of the jeep and hurdled into the small cargo area, not caring whether or not he was noticed.

Gareth cursed as he saw the jeep start up and a man leap into the back. The jeep started to pull away and Gareth cursed under his breath. I am NOT getting left behind on this, he thought and picked up speed, deciding to use his knowledge of the rooftops and streets to get ahead of the jeep. A minute later, he turned a corner and saw the jeep speeding towards him. He took a step back to give it a little room before jumping into the back. He nearly sat on the other guy in the back of the jeep and was about to pipe up and comment when he noticed the bleeding man and the large dog. This is going to be interesting. He pulled a sai out of his boot and palmed it, warily watching the girl and the man next to him, not entirely sure he'd made a good life decision tonight.

Only shortly after steadying himself in the back of the jeep, Will saw another jump in from the side, pulling out some sort of weapon.
Will took the best defensive position he could, considering the bumpy streets and the speed of the jeep.
"What do you want? I'm sure we're all trying to get out of here, same as you."

Gareth looked the man next to him up and down then glanced at the girl, who seemed very fixed on driving the jeep and getting the heck out of dodge. He then looked back at the man next to him and smiled.
"I'm sure we are all trying to get to the same general place. However, I think the more pressing issue is not so much who's the bigger threat here as what's going to happen if he loses any more blood," he commented, nodding at the bleeding, unconscious man in the front seat with the large dog.
He quickly thought and returned the blade to his boot, thinking. Despite his best attempts not to, his sympathy and empathy took control of his thoughts and he concentrated on a way to save the bleeding body. At the rate the man was bleeding, he didn't have hours of time before he died of blood loss. Neither the other man nor the girl looked seriously injured, though there was no telling while in a setting that was constantly bouncing.
"I don't suppose either of you know of a place where we can all hole up for a few days and recover from our wounds?" he asked. "The sooner we can find shelter, the sooner we can stop his bleeding, assess the rest of our wounds, and look less conspicuous to people who may be looking for the person who blew up the tavern. Or whichever order you prefer. I personally would prefer to not draw attention to myself if I can help it."
He grinned and readjusted his sunglasses as they shifted after the jeep went over a particularly large bump in the road.

Rain had been working her way deeper and deeper into the alleys, picking up her pace into a long-striding run, and thought any others to be far behind her. But as she began to dart across one of the wider streets at the edge of town the roar of an engine was that alerted her in time to jump high into the air as a jeep barreled down the road.
The jeep shot under her and she just managed to land on the hood, crouching to avoid flying off the speeding vechicle. She had one wild glimpse of a driver before a wheeling turn forced her to spring for the back and cling to the wire mesh. She caught her balance and stared down at two men and a dog, too surprised to speak.

Shadow was picking up speed when she heard a thump and in one of the wing mirrors caught sight of a young man pulling himself into a jeep. She frowned, but was too busy concentrating on navigating the pot-holded, rubble-strewn roads out of Scrapyard to give too much of her focus to the stowaway.
Then as she careered around one corner there was another crash from the back and, glancing in the rearview mirror, she saw another man had jumped into the jeep. Shadow sucked in her breath over her teeth, thinking she was going to have plenty more injuries on her hands at this rate.
She caught the flash of metal as the second man drew a weapon.
"What do you want? I'm sure we're all trying to get out of here, same as you," the first stowaway asked guardedly.
"I'm sure we are all trying to get to the same general place. However, I think the more pressing issue is not so much who's the bigger threat here as what's going to happen if he loses any more blood," the second man replied calmly. "I don't suppose either of you know of a place where we can all hole up for a few days and recover from our wounds?
"The sooner we can find shelter, the sooner we can stop his bleeding, assess the rest of our wounds, and look less conspicuous to people who may be looking for the person who blew up the tavern. Or whichever order you prefer. I personally would prefer to not draw attention to myself if I can help it."
For a few moments Shadow took her eyes off the road to look at them in the rearview mirror.
"If you don't wanna look conspicious, then I suggest you put the weapon away," she said, her voice coming out low and hoarse from disuse. It felt strange to hear herself talk. "I also suggest you shut up and let me drive."
She looked back at the road, but it those few moment a girl had appeared in the middle of the road.
"SHIT!"
Shadow slammed her foot on the brake but the girl had jumped, and then she was clinging onto the hood. Too surprised to do anything but stare at her, Shadow fumbled with pedals and pressed the accelerator. The jeep shot off again.
Shadow tore her eyes from the girl to look past her at the road, and realised they were coming up to a dead end.
"Shit!" she yelled again, swinging the wheel into a sharp turn. The girl on the hood leapt for the back as she did so, clinging to the wire mesh.
Shadow was breathing heavily, and now keeping her eyes doggedly fixed on the road. This was why she'd never owned a car.

Stone came to. The first thing he noticed was the pain, his back was on fire and he was lying on his side. The second thing he noticed was that he was bandaged. The third thing was the voices. Both men and women, conversing in low tones. It was dark however he could see a flickering light a short distance away. It reflected on a stony ceiling some way above him.
Gunner was close by, head resting on his paws. His ears had come forward and he lifted his head a little as Stone's breathing changed but the dog remained silent.
Stone took stock. He was injured, but treated. He was with strangers. His weapons were gone and so was his shirt revealing his muscled torso which was swathed with bandages and tattoos. Gunner was not alarmed so that meant the people he was with didn't intend him harm - Gunner always knew.
Stone took a deep breath and pushed himself painfully into a sitting position. He could see that they were in a cave. A large stone outside the entrance blocked the occupants and their fire from view. It was half-light outside, and Stone could not tell whether it was sunrise or sunset.
He gazed toward the voices and saw his companions in the half-ligh for the first time. Two women and two men. Easing himself back down again, Stone said nothing. They hadn't noticed him sit up and he wasn't going to draw their attention - a habit borne of survival. Gunner huffed a big sigh.

Gareth chose not to move as a new passenger joined the crew. Making room for her would have involved his standing up and with all the clotheslines and other possible decapitating objects hanging across the alleyways, chivalry was going to have to take a backseat to self-preservation. The way she had moved when the jeep had come speeding at her a few moments ago showed she was used to moving quickly on her feet. As the jeep swerved again, he grabbed onto the frame of the jeep above his head and cursed under his breath. He scowled at the girl driving as they came into a clear alleyway. The way she's driving, he thought, she's going to get all of us killed. He looked down at the bleeding man again and then glanced at the two passengers in the back with him, wondering how things were going to flesh out. -In the cave- Gareth looked at his large weapon in his hands and sighed. One of the blades had been dented when he got tossed against the wall when the tavern had blown up. Repairing it was going to be interesting and a long process but he would attend to it later. Right now he was more concerned about figuring more out about his companions. The unconscious man was still out for the count and had been attended to but there was still the chance of his getting an infection given the extent of the burns and the less-than sanitary conditions. Now his... dog was watching over him nearby. A fire had been started and he could sense the tension in the air as they all looked at one another suspiciously. We are all fighters on and we don't know how to measure one another up. The silence began to press in on him and he sighed, placing his scythe on the ground next to him and leaned against the cave wall. " Since no one seems to want to break the silence, I might as well do it. My name is Shades, for obvious reasons, and I was outside the tavern when it blew." He unconsciously rubbed the back of his head from where it had connected with the wall then looked at the other guy in their small group. Feel free to comment about his wearing sunglasses inside and the weapon (double-headed scythe)

Rain had hung on for all she was worth while the jeep careered out of the town, and kept to herself for the rest of the time. She had gathered firewood when they stopped, and now crouched to the side, examining the other three.
Except for the girl's blue hair, she couldn't see too much of them in the flickering light of the fire, although Shades seemed to be a large man. His weapon looked rather wicked, not the best to be fighting against with only one sword. Fortunately, she had three.
Her hand dropped unconsciously to the hilt of her katana as she spoke up, her voice still startling her with its smooth melody. She'd always thought she should sound like a crow.
"I call myself Rain." She hesitated, wondering if her berserker fighting style had preceded her in reputation. "Sometimes people call me Blood. I was in an alley when it blew."
