Shad angled himself into the dim control room, which seemed to Abby to be awfully full of people.
"Funny, that." Taya answered Shad, "I have some too. And they're just leaving."
Abby looked more closely at the other people who were staring at her in the glow of the control lights. There were four, all women. Two of them seemed oddly…real for some reason. There was something familiar about them although Abby was pretty sure she’d never seen them before.
“Chaos Sword?” asked one of them, as though it was a foregone conclusion. She was wearing clothes that would pass for business casual anywhere on Earth.
That was it! On Earth. The girl seemed so familiar because she was from the same time and place as Abby! Her question partially registered, making no sense at first.
“Huh?” Abby said blankly. “Oh! Chaos…what? The website! Yes. What?” She frowned. “Chaos Sword has something to do with this?”
Shad stood with his arms folded, watching Abby as though she was an ill-performing circus animal.
“She came through a wall.” He told Taya, “And she knows my name.”

Taya raised an eyebrow. This seemed awfully familiar. She nodded in Jess's direction.
"This one appeared in here out of thin air. Dunno about the other two." she answered. "Something suspicious is going on here."
Jess looked up again at the newcomer. "Yeah, I'm Jessi and this is Twilight. You're on the forums too, right?"

Whatever conversation Abby had been expecting, this wasn’t it. Jessi? Twilight! She knew those names. “Yeah, I was on those forums today,” she hesitated, “is it still today? Nevermind,” she interrupted herself, “Yes, I’m,” she hesitated and sighed, after all, she’d never thought she’d have to say her screen name out loud, “I’m Foxee.” Abby shrugged and smiled, trying to straighten hair that felt like a fright wig after tumbling into the engine room and being dragged all over the ship by Shad. “Maybe it’s best you call me Abby.” Shad, studying the girls silently, really noticed Flare for the first time. He glared at her suspiciously and pointed her out to Taya. “These three I do not know about,” he rumbled, “ but this Zantanos freeloader can get off the ship now.” He took an outraged breath, “Her kind run, they do not fight. And she will betray you as soon as it suits her to save her own skin.” ((Note to Twilight: remember, this is just Shad’s skewed cultural thinking. His people are biased against Flare’s. Just to keep things interesting! ))

Their conversation interupted by Shad's anger, Jess turned to watch the exchange between he and Taya. The hostility in his face as he glared at Flare made her nervous. They had been brought together for a reason, however freaky it was. Something told her Flare could not leave, none of them should seperate. She sat and watched, wondering how to cool the situation.

Twilight stared, then tugged at her hair. "Ah...Foxee?" She sighed. "Looks like more of us got pulled in..."
Feeling suddenly almost too cheerful, she added brightly, "Hey, at least it wasn't at Writing Forums, where there could have been thousands dropping in."

Jessi snorted in amusement at Twi's comment. Taya glared at her.
"Right, we have to work out what to do with you lot then." she said, "You obviously all know each other. Are you some sort of spies? Could be dangerous to let you loose in the 'Port."

Abby couldn’t help but grin at the thought of writers appearing helter-skelter from every nook and cranny of the ship. It would get crowded really quick!
Then she caught Taya’s glare and sobered. Cutting a glance at the the others from Chaos Sword she wondered if they would get a chance to talk out of the earshot of the ‘characters.’ It didn’t look to be the case, though.
They were trapped in this RPG for good or ill now.
"Right, we have to work out what to do with you lot then." Taya said, "You obviously all know each other. Are you some sort of spies? Could be dangerous to let you loose in the 'Port."
Would spies really tell you they were spies? Abby wondered silently.
“They can transport from place to place instantly in the blue light,” Shad rumbled arms still laced over his chest. Abby thought he looked like a genie but for the clothes, “that could be some kind of new Imperialist technology.”
“We aren’t spies,” Abby spoke up, “we’re more…lost than anything else.”

Kali frogmarched Sarah through the crowds of people at the port, obviously hoping to get her somewhere quiet quickly so she could continue her interrogation. Quickly, because Sarah's outlandish clothes were even now drawing attention, and as a talented mechanic Kali's skills were often in demand.
"Just keep walking," she whispered softly, but still menacingly, every now and then in Sarah's ear.
Like I'm going to do anything else with a gun at my back, Sarah wanted to reply sourly, but bit down on her tongue to keep herself quiet. Her glasses also seemed to be falling off, but rather than risk irritating Kali by moving her arm she wriggled her nose to push them further up.
"Excuse me! Excuse me!"
Abruptly, someone from the crowd swung Kali round to get her attention and Sarah was jerked around with her. The mechanic's strong grip meant she hadn't let go of her prisoner's arm, and so Sarah's shoulder was practically wrench from its socket. At least that's what it felt like.
"Ow."
"Excuse me." Their harasser was a small, portly woman with bizarrely curly hair that was bright green ... very bright. Sarah blinked. Was it dyed or natural?
"Yes?" Kali asked tightly, clearly annoyed.
"You're the mechanic, yes? I need my ship looked at it ..."
"Yes, yes. Give me your name and ship details and I'll look at it later, when I have time."
"Yes, I -" the woman stopped, and glanced at Sarah properly for the first time. "What is she wearing?"
Sarah glanced down at herself. She didn't look that odd ... a grey cardigan, tshirt, demin shorts, tights and boots. Admittedly the "Hello Kitty" tshirt was a bit out of place ... but the denim? It didn't look any stranger that Kali's get-up, though apparantly the woman thought so.
"Goodness ... orphan I expect?"
"Hey -"
"Yes." Kali cut across Sarah's righteous indignation. "My new assistant. I'm just taking her to get some new clothes."
"Right ... I'll leave you my details some other time then ...?"
"Yes."
The woman scuttled away, throwing occasional backward glances over her shoulder at Sarah. Kali rolled her eyes, exasperated and reexamined her prisoner. Again.
"You're more trouble than your worth."
"Let me go then?" Sarah suggested hopefully, but without any real expectations.
"Hardly," Kali snorted. "I want to find out how you teleported into my ship."
"I told you, I--"
"Yeah, yeah, I know. You got sucked through your computer from another world," Kali said dryly, raising an eyebrow.
"Well .. when you put it like that," Sarah considered. "I wouldn't believe me either."

"To put it mildly," Twilight added, standing up. Crossing her arms, she stared Shad in the eye. "Now, you want to apologize to Flare?"
She cocked her head to the side, keeping Flare in her peripheral vision. "I happen to know she's angry at your unthinking slur, but won't do anything about it because she's nicer than that. I'm not. Especially when you go after friends of mine."
She looked back over her shoulder at Flare's half-strangled protest, then added. "Even if Flare doesn't know me, I know her, and I don't appreciate your lack of respect to a lady."

Shad ignored Twilight, leaning in to Taya a little, placing a hand on the back of her chair.
"I think they're spies," he said quietly, "in which case we should interrogate them. You know as well as I do that the Imperialist Guard has an intercept web set up all through this galaxy. We have a slim enough chance to make it through as it is, if we're informed on we'll have none. A little extra intelligence could go a long way."
He paused, turning his head to assess the girls thoughtfully.
"Of course, we'll have to neutralize them before we move on."

Flare decided she'd had enough of staying quiet and listening.
"Look, unless the Emperialists are suddenly way more stupid and disorganized than they were just yesterday, I don't really think they'll be into popping people around via blue lights who obviously aren't suited for combat." She sent Jessi and the others an apologetic glance, but continued determindedly, "If anything, I would be a spy out of these three, as I am the only one who actually smuggled myself aboard. And," her voice trembled a little despite her attempts to keep it steady, "I-I have no reason t-to work for those butchers. Just...just yesterday the bastards finished killing off the last of my family..." She broke off, swallowed hard, then shook her head and turned to the wall, wrapping her arms around herself.

Jessi and Taya both turned to Flare as she spoke up. The emotion in the woman's voice moved Jess to shame. Here they were worrying about themselves when this woman had lost her whole family in a single day. She stood up to comfort her as best she could and shot a glance at Taya.
"Honestly," she said to the room at large, "If we were spies, why the hell would we just drop in on you like that? Don't you think we'd be sneaking around? Don't you think that spies would be more cunning and knowledgable about this place than we are?"
She turned to Twi and Foxee. "The others are bound to turn up sooner or later. Kage, Renos. Anyone else that does what we did. We should try to find them or their characters. Anyone know or see any evidence of their posting before they got here?"

Shad studied Flare’s shaking shoulders for a moment as he leaned on the back of Taya’s chair, the other fist resting on the console in front of her.
Flare’s words had brought the memories howling back, fresh and bloody as the moment his own family was slain, his clan decimated.
He clenched his teeth, willing the flood of anger to subside. Perhaps these oddities weren’t spies then but maybe something even less welcome. He didn’t want the responsibility. The encumbrance. Still…
“I don’t care what is done with the others,” Shad growled to Taya finally, pushing himself upright, “just don’t let the Zantanostian leave.”
He hooked thumbs into his belt-loops, shaking his head slightly. Flare was Zantanostian as he was even if she was undoubtedly useless. If her clan lived that would be one thing. As it was he would have to look out for her.
Shad sighed. As though he needed this burden.
"The others are bound to turn up sooner or later. Kage, Renos. Anyone else that does what we did. We should try to find them or their characters. Anyone know or see any evidence of their posting before they got here?"
“I don’t know if there’s anything before the blue light.” Abby replied, watching Shad in a puzzled way.
((This guy keeps surprising me.))

Twilight spoke up slowly, frowning a little. "Well, I know Blossom would be on here. In the profiles thread she was talking about the woman mechanic who was in the last #3. Said she was phenomenal at fixing ships."
She sighed and moved over to Flare, wrapping an arm around the woman's shoulders and holding her close. Flare responded unthinkingly and huddled close, and Twi rubbed at her own eyes. She hadn't thought of what this would mean for Flare when she'd typed up the profile. Hadn't realized...

Taya looked up. Mechanic? There was only one of those fitting that description. Everyone knew of her, she was highly sought after.
"You mean Kali?" she asked. "Jacaus, good luck if one of you idiots dropped in on her." Taya grinned, "She doesn't like surprises. She doesn't like idiots either."
"Watch who you're calling an idiot Taya," Jess stood up. "Lost we are but stupid we're not and I am not afraid of you either. Watch your mouth."
As suspected Taya began to flare up into argument mode. But before a word could be spoken, there was a hammering on the outer docking door.
"Taya! Taya! Let me in, its Lunan! I have a message!"
NPC alert, everyone... no specific plan for him but hey, no idea what the message is yet

As soon as the green-haired woman had melted back into the crowd, Kali seized Sarah's upper arm in an iron grip, wheeled her around and once again started marching her out of the hangar. They seemed to be heading for a square of buildings just on the edge, into and out of which many people were absently drifting.
As they got closer Sarah realised each building had a large neon sign above the door; they were written in a foreign language, but judging from the large carrier bags people were exiting with, Sarah guessed they were shops.
She was fascinated by the different appearances within the crowds; suddenly the Star Wars films with all those different aliens didn't seem quite so bizarre. Admittedly there were no little green men with anntennae and big black eyes, but the people were diverse enough to clue her in to the fact that they came from different planets.
She was so fixated on the aliens, that she didn't realise Kali had steered her into one of the shops until they were inside. She registered with shock the outlandish clothing hanging from every rack, and recoiled in horror when Kali picked out what appeared to be a white and silver jumpsuit and held it up against her in measurement.
"You have got to be kidding me," she complained, forgetting for a moment the gun Kali had trained on her.
"You can't walk around in those all day," Kali pointed out frostily, twitching the gun slightly so Sarah's eyes were drawn to it. The blood drained from her face, and she swallowed nervously.
"Yeah ... but," she mumbled, "I'm not really a jumpsuit person."
"Tough."
How did I know she was going to say that?

Shad anticipated Taya's command and hit the button so that the door slid open. As Lunan reeled through the door, panting, Shad was mainly glad that something had broken the tension…even if it was more tension. He was never comfortable around crying females.
Lunan caught hold of a support that extended through ceiling and floor, standing half bent over, catching his breath and beating a look back over his shoulder.
Shad looked that way, too, and saw nothing. Still, he slammed the button again and the door slid shut. Reaching around Taya, Shad hit another button that sealed it.

Kirsty growled as peter walked off, she was sooo sick of him annoying her in her spares. She looked at the computers and decided despite the fact it was against the school rules she'd visit chaossword. She headed straight for the RPG's as always.
As soon as she clicked she saw a new one 'sci-fi i can deal with that' she though reading over the profile she'd pulled from the depths of her school account she posted it and read the intro duction. 'hmm, since he's such a loner he would have his own ship, unless he was transporting something' "The ship moved quickly carrying the supplies into the war zone. Trying to get it to the people who needed it. Kirsty sat back and shook her head, 'that has gotta be the crappest intro I've ever thought up' just as she went to hit backspace peter walked up and hit the enter key posting it. She turned to scold him AGAIN but he'd already moved on and was now annoying BJ. Turning back to the computer she noticed the scream was glowing a blue colour. "What the hell" she said aloud as she blacked out.
When she woke up she was alone, and surrounded in darkness, she could see the outlines of crates. Voices floated into her, it sounded like they were arguing "There is no one there Tain, for gods sake I've checked like a million times" The first voice was deep and kinda cute Kirsty admitted but some how familiar to her. "Tough Dominic go check again the computers are showing an intruder if it's someone from the superpower then dispose of them" Kirsty looked down at her school uniform, "This isn't right" she muttered just as the door to where ever she was opened. light flooded in and she squinted. "Hey you stay still!" it was the voice from before, she didn't move as he approached her, not wanting trouble. "How did you get in here" Kirsty grinned and scratched her head confused. "I don't even know" The man grabbed her arm some what gently and started dragging her out of the holding bay. Kirsty looked him up and down he was sooo familiar it wasn't funny. "Dominic?" he stopped and turned to face her, "How did you.." She cut in front of him, "I don't rightly know," Dominic looked at her sceptically and then continued dragging her out of the room.

Thankfully, Kali decided against the jumpsuit. It had nothing to do with suiting Sarah's personal taste, but rather the white material, whatever it was, would apparantly stain too easily.
"Stain?" Sarah repeated blankly, "Why would I have to worry about stains?"
Kali gave a look that clearly said she thought her charge was a complete idiot. Remembering the large and powerful gun pointed at her, said charge tried not let herself be offended.
"I told that Artha Graice you were my new assistant," Kali answered in a bored monotone as she flicked through the racks of outlandish clothing, "And unfortunately that woman is the biggest gossip on all of Eon-5. So you have to look the part."
"But ... if she's the biggest gossip, won't she just tell everyone about my clothes anyway?"
"Yes, which is why we need to get rid of them. I don't want anyone coming snooping around until I find out exactly how you appeared on that ship myself."

((okay, I’ll take a shot at the message. Hope it’s all right.))Shad crossed his arms, watching Lunan catch his breath. The young man’s face was sheened with sweat as though he’d run the length of the ship. Shad glanced at the communications link at the console, it was lit. Whatever this was must not have been safe to say over the link. And that meant bad news might just have come aboard or was about to. Finally, Lunan looked up, and met Taya’s eyes. “Guardsmen. Emperialist.” He said raggedly, pressing a hand to his side, “They’ve gotten us tractiled down to the dock with limpet mine hawsers and are demanding to board.” He pointed to the comm. link. “They can hear that, I think but they’re trying to board without raising you. If we try to break free the mines will...will..." Lunan's face crumpled a bit, "blow up the ship." Lunan scanned their faces and then finished it. "It’s a raid.”

"Tichaita!" Taya swore with venom, "How in the nine moons do they know we're here?"
She turned suddenly on the oddly dressed strangers. "Is it you?" She lunged at Jessi and held her in a vice-like grip, her laser gun pointed again at her eyeball. "You sneaking wretches, they must be tracking you. Well, not for long." her finger tightened on the trigger.
Without thinking, a reflex borne of pure adrenalin Jessi thrust the heel of her hand straight up under Taya's chin and at the same moment twisted her other hand out of Taya's grip and knocked the gun aside. It skittered along the floor for a moment and came to rest near to Shad.
The two women tussled for a moment. Jessi was heavier than the alien, yet Taya was quicker, fitter and stronger. Suddenly they stopped. Jessi had Taya flat on her face on the shiny floor with her left arm twisted up behind her back and one knee pressed firmly on her shoulders to hold her down. Taya had a razor sharp dagger in her other hand, tapping Jess's other leg. A stand off.
"You know, when you've quite finished losing your temper, we might want to work out how to get out of here." Jess commented breathlessly. The vicious tussle had lasted but 30 seconds.

As they left the room Dominic Shoved Kirsty down into a chair, and tied her wrist to it, Kirsty resisted the urge to roll her eye's and let him do it. "There's your intruder Tain, a 19 year old girl" Kirsty laughted "I'm 17" she corrected out of reflex, then shut herm mouth quickly with the look she got from Dominic,
"Look Dominic we're almost at the space port, Get her some normal clothes and get rid of her, after i'll sell this stuff and you can find a mechanic." Dominic just nodded and looked at Kirsty, "Well i have two questions girl, what's your name and what size are you?" Kirsty looked down, "Kirsty, but most people call me Zen or Kirby," thinking of where she'd come from she quickly added, "I"m also known as RB" Kirsty pasued again, "and i'm size 14"
Dominic just nodded and walked back through the door he had just walked through, Tain in turn untied Kirsty, "well, Kirsty. Care to explain how you ended up on our ship" Kirsty just shrugged, "Last thing i accuratly remember is that i was about to tell peter to go shove his trumpet up his..." The door slid open and Dominic threw a bunch of clothes at Kirsty, "Go get changed" he said pointing at a door. Kirsty quickly abliged.
As the ship landed Kirsty was pushed out. Dominic followed close behind her. As soon as they where out of site of Tain dominic lent over and whispered in her ear, "Look, i don't htink your from around here, so I'll stick with you" he looked her over quickly "Until i find out where you came from, Now lets go find you some better clothes" With that dominic lead her down the street, Kirsty taking in ever detail just incase she needed to run.
Dominic steered her into a shop. Another pair of people caught her eye, one in a Hello kitty T-shirt. Dominic had his back turned so Kirsty slid closer to get a better look. As dominic glanced over his shoulder she pretened to look through the rack she was standing near before whistling softly to get the girls attention.

"... and I don't know anything about fixing ships, or mechanics at all for that matter, so I'm likely to just blow us up ..." Sarah's voice trailed off as she desperately tried to find another excuse for not pretending to be Kali's assistant. The mechanic didn't seem to be listening, though, as she flicked through the racks of clothing for something more 'suitable'.
Panic started to swell up within Sarah as she really began to assess her situation: she had been sucked through her computer, somehow, and was trapped in an alien world surrounded by those that would suspect and distrust her - or worse, throw her in an asylum as a lunatic. And she had been landed with someone who apparantly just wanted to get the information she needed before disposing of her ...
Could this be any worse? Sarah wondered, beginning to hyperventilate. Trying to control her breathing, she became absorbed in the clothes as a convienient distraction. After all, all this was assuming she wasn't lying on her study floor unconscious and all this was some kind of illusion her subconscious had conjured.
Before she could panic any more, a soft whistle caught her ear. It seemed to be meaningful, holding some sort of message. Sarah looked up, intrigued, and her eyes fell on another girl about her own age flicking through the opposite rack. Though Sarah was sure she had never seen her, there was something familiar ...
She was human, and there was something else ... Sarah glanced swiftly at Kali, her mind racing. The mechanic was still trying to find her 'apprentice' and outfit, occasionally holding something up before dismissing it.
Trying to look interested in the clothes, Sarah sauntered around to she was stood next to the other girl. Bending down to look more closely at one outfit, she muttered out of the corner of her mouth,
"Do I know you from somewhere?"

Sarah started at the name of the board - it hadn't even occured to her that the others might have been sucked through, too. She glanced at the girl, eyes startled behind her glasses, then realised this would probably draw Kali's attention. She quickly looked back at the clothing rack. Well, this proved she wasn't mad ... at least, she hoped it did.
"Yeah," she answered in a whisper, every now and then looking up at Kali. Luckily, the blue haired mechanic had her back turned. "I'm Blossom. You?"
