Cody nodded, "Oh."
He hadn't read it. Usually all the RPGs required was a good skim through, but that seemed to change now that he was in the story.
"Well shouldn't we get going, then? Do we have a plan?"

Shad strode purposefully to the service hatch, listening as he went for the tramp of Imperialist boots. All was quiet and he saw no one. He might as well have been on a ghost ship.
Withdrawing a small cube from a jacket pocket, he pressed it into the matching depression beside the hatch door. It swept aside with only a slight grating of friction. He palmed the little cube and dropped through the opening, allowing himself to fall onto the ladder on the other side, clinging to it and stowing the cube once again.
Below him the service duct went straight down through the bowels of the ship, tiny green LED lights the only illumination. Shad heard the hatch door close again as he descended toward deck three.
*** Abby hurried along with the others, wondering what they would do if the raiders caught them. It wasn’t as though she and the other Chaos Sword members had chosen sides in the conflict but she knew that the Imperialists wouldn’t see it that way. They were on a rebel’s ship and therefore were already guilty.

Kirsty shook her head still looking around, "Thats it my dad's going to die for not letting me do cadets" she sighed "Just as soon as i get home" she crept foward looking around. Dominic watched her look around unsure of what to respond to her last comment, "Come on, we have got to get out of here and get these girls into some normal Clothes, then we can see if we can trust them"

They had reached the back of the store room; a push bar door was just ahead of them, with a green sign in a foreign tongue above it. If Sarah had to guess, she was pretty sure the sign read "exit". It was surprisingly reminiscent of home ... and The Pagemaster. I watch far too many cartoons ... she thought to herself with a sigh.
Kali primed the gun and headed for the door. Just before she opened it, she turned to the others. "I've got a couple of ships down in the hangar. Not in the best of shape, but in good enough working order to get us away. I think I've got a couple of spare overall sets for the girls too. As soon as I open the door, get going - head straight for the hangar. Dock 5."

Dock five... Cody repeated in his head, and nodded. He buttoned his trench coat to cover his apparently "unusual" shirt, then stuck his hand in the coat's pocket, feeling the bump formed by his gun.
This frickin' gun is either gonna save me or get me killed, he thought for a moment.

Dominic nodded grabbing Kirsty's arm and dragging her in the direction of the door "Sounds good to me" he said quietly waiting for kali to open the Door.

Shad trotted to the round room that housed the mumba machine. Looking up and down the empty corridor, he cubed himself in, once again dropping the cube-key into one of his many pockets, and entered, the door sliding shut behind him.
The Machine idled, sounding like a soothing cross between an ancient clothes washing machine and a contented whale. Squat, smooth, and coppery it didn’t look important at all.
Crossing to it, Shad knelt, pulling a piece of trim from the bottom of the machine to reveal a drawer that opened smoothly when pressed, sliding out soundlessly. In the shallow space revealed were a few items that were best not left in plain sight. One was a prosaic manila envelope.
Checking the envelope’s contents quickly satisfied him that everything was there. He slid it into an inner pocket, closed the drawer, replaced the trim piece, and fairly sprinted from the room.
In the silence of the corridor he heard an unwelcome sound. A banging on the hull which meant that the imperial raiders had tired of sending messages and were taking the more direct route of knocking on the hull with something heavy and metal.
Possible explanations were getting rapidly more difficult.
It was high time to get the passports to Taya so that they could appear blameless and respectable. Surely she had gotten the stowaways safely hidden by now.
Shad ran to meet Taya, the thick soft soles of his boots quiet on the metal mesh walkways.
((Just a note about cube-keys...I think they're more of an override key than a usual way of opening doors. Shad has a habit of using them.))

Kali nodded at the others, shifting the gun so it rested in the crook of her elbow, running along her forearm to the tense finger resting on the trigger. Ready, she mouthed silently, Three ... two ... one ...
"Go!" she shouted as she banged open the door and randomly shot the laser out, causing panic and screaming in the gathered crowds to erupt. A nice bit of confusion would mask their run for the docks.

What to post, what to post? I feel like I should be posting, but all we're doing is hiding somewhere, right? Whatever...lol. Going to post anyway!
Twilight went along with everyone else. Ok, wierd situation, it was plausible to be feeling like one was about to go nuts, but it was a very bad idea after all, to overreact like she'd been doing. Just a little. She sighed. Right. You can't do anything about popping out in a different universe, so just deal with it quietly and try to help out. Yeah. Game plan sounds good. Just keep talking in your head so you don't do it out loud. She glanced around at the others. They were pretty quiet too. Did they have voices debating in their heads on how strange the situation was?

Kirsty allowed herself to be dragged along by dominic, as he pulled her towards Dock 5, throught he crowd, she glanced at Blossom, and Kage, "This is getting too bloody confusing" she muttered. As Dominic fell instep behind Kali.

Cody followed suit, walking after the others. He kept his thoughts on his friends and his eyes on his surroundings as he followed the others toward the docks.

Kali led the others in a desperate dash for Dock 5. Her laser shot had caused a panic, so, with her gun hidden, they looked like just another group in the fleeing crowds. The Imperialists were already trying to restore order, but Kali planned on being long gone by then. What were the Imperialists even doing here?
Sarah was breathless as they ran. With her free hand Kali held her arm in an iron grip, dragging her through the space station. Dominic and Renos were beside them and Kage a little way behind. Despite the panicking, screaming crowds and their own, tense run, Sarah found herself wondering about the other Chaos Sword members. Twilight and Jessi had already posted when she had ... so were they in the story too? Where they on the station?
"Here!" Kali's shout distracted her. "Dock 5."
The blue haired alien pointed out a ship that looked ... well, big and shiny to Sarah's uniformed eyes. It was the sort of ship she'd imagined based on a bunch of sci-fi movies, but had no idea how to describe.
Their little group started towards it, when Kali suddenly stopped. Sarah turned, confused, but her character's attention was focused completely on another ship in the dock.
"What's wrong? What is it?" Sarah was uneasy.
"I know that ship," Kali said grimly. "That's Shad and Taya's ... I hope they know the Imperialists are here."

Cody looked up at the ship in question.
Maybe...maybe Kali recognized some of the others' characters who'd posted before him. He tried to think back...well basically everyone had posted before him. Then again, they could just be NPCs...
He sighed.
"Wait and see," he told himself.

Jess ran quietly, her head pounding. "Bugger." she said. Then she heard a noise. A door? Taya vaulted out from nowhere and trained her laser on the door, "You'd best be hoping you're a friend!" she yelled.

I hope I'm not reacting wrongly to this Before Sarah could stop her, Kali had sprinted over to the ship and banged hard on the door. Sarah winced, but had to assume that if Kali knew them then the owners couldn't be ... for lack of a better description, bad guys. Though, come to think of it ... Taya ... hadn't that been the name of Jessi's character? Kali pounded on the door, bruising her fist but caring little. As much as she wanted to void the Imperialists, Shad and Taya would be in even worse trouble if they were caught. A muffled voice came from inside. "You'd best be hoping you're a friend!" "Taya!?" Kali yelled, "Taya, it's Kali! You'd better start moving - the Imperialists are here and they'll be coming this way soon."

Clearly they'd encountered someone's character.
Taya...Maybe Twilight's? or Jessie's? Hell, I don't fuckin' know.

"You better be hoping you're a friend!"
Shad heard Taya's voice, harsh with threat, and began to run. Taya was responding in her typical way and if it was the Imperialist raiders this could end ugly.
When he reached the others he saw Taya, her weapon trained on the door.
"No need for that," he said, "I have our documents right here. No point looking guilty."

"It's Kali, open her up." Taya answered, lowering her weapon. "Clearly we'd better get out of here. I'll fire us up." and without waiting for an answer she turned on her heel and marched back up to the control room.
Jess hung around, interested to meet the new people and wanting to steer clear of Taya for a while longer.

Twilight glanced at Jessi, then at Flare, shrugged and then grinned. "Well, Kali should be with Blossom, if I remember correctly. This will be interesting."
She cast a quick look up toward where Taya had gone, then turned her gaze on Shad. So, what was the plan?

Shad nodded a shade reluctantly, still suspicious of whoever was outside, and put the documents into one of his many pockets. Crossing to the door control he slammed a hand down on it and the hatch door slid up with a hiss.
"Welcome," he told the newcomers tersely, looking beyond them for Imperialist pursuit, "Please waste no time here."

Twilight stared. "Blossom! Kage! Renos!" Her gaze traveled over the three of them, then on to the...more outlandishly attired people accompanying them. "Or should I say, Sarah, Cody and Kirsty?"
She backed up a step to the side so that Flare was in view, just beside her, and smiled wryly at them. "Looks like we all got sucked in."

Kali had just opened her mouth to reply to Shad when there was a cry from over his shoulder. "Blossom! Kage! Renos!" The girl talking was a little behind Shad, in the ship proper, and looking over Kali's shoulder at her ... companions. "Or should I say Sarah, Cody and Kirsty?"
The girl backed up a step and Kali saw there was another woman behind her, but one that apparently came from this universe. "It looks like we all got sucked in."
"You could say that."
"Hey, Twi!" Sarah grinned.
Kali closed her eyes and shook her head, breathing heavily. "This is unfreakingbelievable," she snarled, then looked back up, "I was going to tell you that the Imperialists have comandeered the station. They're searching it for something. But it seems we might have ... other things," her eyes flicked over their various companions. "To discuss."

Twilight grinned and waved. "Well, this just makes everything better! With all of us here, I'm sure everything will work out." She dropped her hand and turned her smile on Kali. "If I remember correctly from the plot before we came here, they're looking for whoever they think is a 'rebel'. You apply in that regard, no?"

Kali resisted the urge to grimace. "Plot". These people were really starting to irritate her. Beside her she could see Sarah nodding, blithely unaware that the smallest word could have completely the wrong effect - they clearly needed to be taught a little something if they were all going to attempt to take on the Imperialists.
"Plot, characters - you people really are incredible," she said now, voice flinty. "We are not in a story. This is our real life - we are real people and this is a real threat. Do you understand that? If you don't then you need to if you're going to survive here."
