Belle copied the other girl, tucking her own skirts up so they would not get in the way. She waited for the others to go first; if she imitated them, there was less chance of her vision failing her and causing her to fall.

Alois reached the roof just in time to see one of the other girls preparing to go down. Something about her seemed odd.
"Neh! 'Ey, ye clim' doon al'raigh'?" she asked her, politely averting her eyes from the girl's legs.
Neh! (a term I'm going to have her use. Sometimes it will mean 'no') Hey, you can climb down all right?

Joss had never climbed down a rope before. From the way they'd come she thought that she heard sounds... now was as good a time as any to find out if she could do it. Surely down would be easier than up anyway. She anxiously waited while one of the other girls prepared to go down and exchanged words with the pirate boy.

Belle turned in the pirate boy's direction, and deliberated over what to say. "I ... I d'no," she admitted, "I can't see well outta ma left eye."

While the guards were distracted with all the other escapees, they hadn't yet been able to close the door. Noros decided he'd give sneaking out a shot.
He crept out the door, along the wall, and toward the stairs, just as he stepped on the first step, two guards jumped halfway in front of him, "Where do you think you're going?"
Thinking fast, he answered, "I wouldn't worry about me. There's four or five more prisoners escaping right behind you."
Without thinking, the guards turned and ran towards, well, nothing. Noros sprinted up the stairs and out the door, running down the street and diving into an alley. He looked back to see just one guard, who ran right past the alley.
Whew, he thought, Should've just waited I guess, but this was quicker.

Alois simply nodded. "S'al'raigh. Ah'l help ye." She smiled. "M'name's Alois. Wha's yers?"
It's all right. I'll help you. My name is Alois. What's yours?
She glanced back over at Joss. "Ye goin'a be al'raigh?"
You going to be all right?
Just then, a man darted into the alley below, ducking out of sight as a guard from the prison ran past.
"Wait here!" Alois hissed, and dropped over the roof, landing lightly behind the man on the balls of her feet. As the man [I'll edit as you like Kage] faced her, she stepped back. "'Ey? Ye's from tha' gaol." She took another step back, setting herself.
Hey? You're from that jail
"Wha'cha doin'?" she demanded quietly. "Gon'na ge' 'em gals caught 'gain?"
What are you doing? Going to get the women caught again?

Hattie crouched on the rooftop, looking down into the alley, listening hard to the Pirate as he exchanged words with somebody else. She waited anxiously, she wanted nothing more than to be off the roof and away and hiding. Somewhere safe.

Noros raised an eyebrow, "I wouldn't worry if I're you. The guards around here're about as dumb as they come."
He was about to turn, Wait a minute, he's a pirate...
"I'll help you get them out of here if I can get a ride."
Before the pirate answered or even looked like he was going to answer, he added, "Anywhere."

Um, Kage, 'she' looks and acts like a boy...unless she does something extremely feminine...ah...she's a guy.
Alois hesitated. "Ye don' care if'n we'ens 're pirates?" She glanced back up at the roof where the three women were. "Ah kin use the 'elp, 'n the Cap'n'l be na so rough."
You don't care if we all are pirates? I can use the help, and the Captain won't be so rough.
She glanced at the man. "A moment." With a bound, she was halfway up the rope then to the roof. "'Ey, any o' ye know the man fra' the gaol? 'E'll 'elp us'ns if'n ye 'uns 're fine wit tha'."
Hey, any of you know the man from the jail? He'll help us if you all are fine with that.
lol, sometimes, it seems a little overboard, the way she speaks. lol

Hattie had recognised the voice. It was the man who had first spoken to her offering a chance at escape before the pirate came. He was out already! True to his word then. She spoke up.
"Fine with me, I trust him."

Alois nodded. One was all she needed. 'Raigh' then." Still swinging on the rope, she got close enough to the man to call in a rough whisper, "Yer on. Com 'elp get 'em down, if'n ye can."
Right then. You're on. Come help get them down, if you can.
Quickly climbing up the rope, she reached the rooftop again, and confronted the first girl there. "Fine. Ye're first?"

Hattie nodded. She turned her back to the alley way and with a firm hand on the rope to steady herself, she began to gingerly lower her legs over the space. She found the rope with them and wrapped one leg into it to steady her. Then carefully, she wriggled down a little more and finally she was on the rope itself, sliding down its rough length.
She felt a pair of strong arms grab her as the man at the bottom steadied her as she landed safely on the ground. She nodded a quick thanks then moved swiftly aside to make room for the next woman to climb down as well as moving out of his grasp which she wasn't entirely comfortable with.
Sorry Kage, hope you don't mind that bit...

Joss moved to the rope at the pirate's nod, well, it was now or never. She took a firm grip on the rope, sat on the edge of the roof, and didn't hesitate. After an awkward instant she was more or less walking down the wall, finding that its roughness provided purchase as she went hand over hand down the rope. It felt like forever, though, and soon her muscles started to burn. Her foot slipped and she slid the last ten feet down the rope, practically falling on the man at the bottom. He grunted softly, staggering with his arms around her. "Sorry!" Joss said, disentangling herself and her skirts from him. First thing she was going to do, she thought, was get a good pair of trousers. Her cheeks were burning as she moved away from the rope and the next girl to come down. ((personally, I think her horrible English is cool. ))

No problem, Jessimyre
After Noros finished helping them down, he checked around the corner of the alley for any more guards. Seeing that there were none, he turned back to them.
"I assume we're headed to the docks?" he asked.

As Alois lowered the last girl, (sorry, blossom, hope you don't mind), she unfastened the rope and dropped down, then turned to the man.
"Ye'd be raigh. Should be'a 'eadin' ou' tha' way naow. O'ny two streets o'er."
You'd be right. [We] Should be heading out that way now. Only two streets over.
She paused, checking for guards again, then crossed the road. She paused in the shadows of the other alley, counting to make sure that everyone was there before speaking again. "Need'a mak a stop 'fore Ah go ta the ship. Y'al fine wit standin' by?"
Need to make a stop befoer I go to the ship. You all fine with standing by?

"Fine by me," Noros answered.
I wonder where this guy's from originally, he thought to himself, slightly amused by the strange dialect.

Alois nodded, glancing at the man. "Wha' ya called?"
She kept the little group moving toward the other end of town and the warehouse. She still needed to get a bit of goods.

Lol. No, I don't mind.
Belle muttered an awkward "Thanks," as the pirate boy helped her down, then hurriedly untucked her skirts and brushed them off. It was a stupidly superficial action, especially given the circumstances, but it took her mind off her ruined eyesight. She hated being unable to do things because of what those bastards had done to her.
She cursed them for the thousandth time as they moved on ahead, then silently contemplated the pirate boy. She wondered if they would be on the same ship as her brother. I hope so.

"I'm Noros," he answered, "How about you?"
One of the girls he helped down let out an uncomfortable, "Thanks."
Noros nodded as if to say, 'You're welcome,' but remained silent.

"Alois." Alois nodded to Noros. "Be raigh' back."
She stopped in the shadows of a wall. It should be the warehouse she was to raid. With a grunt, she leapt high, catching an outthrust of stone on the wall and began climbing up to the roof.

Hattie waited nervously in the shadows. There were cries and shouts coming from the direction of the prison. A squad of six soldiers trotted by - ignorant of their hiding place. She feverishly hoped the pirate would hurry, it would be death for them if they were caught. Governor D'Eath was not merciful when it came to piracy and anyone involved with those convicted.

That looks suspiciously close to Governor Death LOL
Noros waited for the pirate and watched the area around him closely. Six of the guards patrolled by, probably headed to the prison to quell the uprising of escapees such as himself. Though, unlike himself and the others around him, those escapees hadn't been lucky enough to sneak out, mostly undetected.
It seemed luck was on his side so far. He just hoped they'd be able to make it to the boat and set off before the guards became wise to their whereabouts.

Huddled in the dark nook with the others, Joss saw the dim outline of Alois scaling the wall. The sounds of the guards made her uneasy.
She'd never been hunted like this before. For the first time she wondered if it was wise to stay with such company. Then she remembered Horse-face and his companion back at the prison and their leering faces. She decided that for better or worse, she would stay with the group.
