:Don't worry, Kage replied, I rely more on my own intuition, anyway.

:Let's go then. Rin sent. She then turned to Tagorious,
"So. Where's this tavern of yours then?"

"This way," he said as he turned and pointed out of the alleyway. He turned left down the road and walked a little way. Up ahead there was a building with a large sign over the door with a Ram's head and a tankard of ale. "Haha! The Ram's Trough. You couldn't find a jollier place of music and ale." he opened the door and stepped inside, upon seeing him all five of the people at the bar and the random people scattered around the tables raised their glasses and cheered. He waved and they lowered the tankards and went back to their business. "Heh, yea they know me here."

"Apparently," Kage muttered, "Let's have a seat somewhere in the corner over there."

He showed them over to a poorly lit table in the corner. The tables was made of old wood and had multiple blade markings across it's surface. This table was mostly used for 'less than friendly' dealings. He took a seat on one side of the table and motioned for them to sit across from them. "This is the 'business' table." he waited for them to get seated and comfortable before starting.

Kage pulled out a chair for Rin before sitting down himself.
"So," he looked at Tagorious, "Like I said before, there are others working against us, so we don't have much time. Do you know anything about the stolen dagger?"

He nodded. Just then a burly woman walked over. She wore a simple dress covered mostly by a dirty apron. He hair was frizzy and brown, tied back in a bun. About the only part about her that looked friendly was her smile. She eyed up the Rin and Kage before turning to Tagorious, "You in some kinda trouble Tag?"
Tagorious turned to her and shook his head, "Haha, no Brema. Just exchanging some info. I will have two Tough Tordeks and a Dirty Dragon though." he said with a smile. He realized he was stalling quite a bit with all the interruptions but he couldn't be rude to her and did really want a drink.
"Okay, and for you two?" she said turning to Kage and Rin with a distrustful scowl on her face.

"Just water, thanks," Kage replied.
He looked back at Tagorious, raising an eyebrow as if to repeat his question.

Brema nodded, "I'll bring a water for the lady then too." she said before walking back to the bar and telling the keeper their orders. Tagorious acknowledged Kage and took in a short breathe before starting his story. "Alrighty, finally down to business then. I don't know too much about the dagger itself or why it seems to be so important all of a sudden but word has it that it was stolen by a man, goes by the name of Antare Xelua," he pronounced the name with what could be considered a french accent. "I've heard a couple stories of this man, people say he's one of the greatest duelists in the entire world, nobodies ever defeated him. To get the dagger, I hear he cut through every monk at the temple that got in his way. Which was just about every one of them. Single handedly no less. He is indeed a force to be reckoned with. His residence is well know too. He owns an small house on the outskirts of Vix, a town about two days ride from here to the west. The guards know it was him, but are too afraid to arrest him. I know I wouldn't want to. If you plan on retrieving the dagger from his that might be a bit difficult, you would want to catch him without 'Eviscerater.' That's his rapier. As if his skill wasn't enough, the blade itself is rumored to have the ability to find the chinks in even the most fortified armor, and deflect projectile spells. He never fights with anything else, which is why I don't know why he would want a dagger like that. He must be getting it for someone else, but for whom I'm not sure." he sat back and took a large breathe. "And that's about all I know on the matter. How does that sound?" he said with a smirk. His blue aura never flickered once through his entire speech.

"Sounds Interesting," Kage replied, "I'll have to talk to some of my contacts, and I'm guessing you'll still want to join us? We're likely to start up again tomorrow morning with some planning as far as what to do. I assume you have a place to stay for the night?"

Jael sighed as she pushed open the door to the Rams Trough. The noise of many people engaged in conversation and the smell of smoke, stale beer and unwashed people assailed her. Well, that was one more job done - she could live comfortably off this profit for a few weeks. Or she could buy a new horse. She needed one, her last having broken its leg irreparably on the job. Poor creature - she had put it out of its misery herself, she owed the animal that much - he'd been a faithful and hard-working companion.
Winding her way around the edges of the large room serving as a pub, she got many an odd glance from patrons. She was used to this, her skin was always a subject of wonder to many of the fair skinned northerners.
As she passed a table whos three occupants seemed to be completely sober - she was immediately suspicious - a large drunk tripped over and fell into her, spilling his ale all down her tunic. She stink of the alcohol almost masked his own as Jael stumbled under his weight, knocking into the table she was passing. She shoved the drunk off her.
"Sorry miss." he mumbled and scrambled out of her way. Jael turned to the table she had had knocked, her dark eyes passing quickly over the two men and the pretty young woman, all wearing travelling garb.
"I do appologise most profoundly." she bowed her head briefly, "May I beg your pardon?"
Without waiting for an answer, Jael moved on up to the bar to discuss a room and information with the bar tender. And the possibility of washing her tunic.

As the dark skinned woman collided with the table, Kage palmed her coin bag stealthily.
"It's no problem," he said, nodding in response.
He turned back to Tagorious, "You do have a place to stay, right?"

Jael reached the bar and motioned to the barman.
"A room for the night, sir." she spoke to him. "And may I ask, is Pian the horseman still trading in these parts?"
"Aye, lass." The barman answered, he turned and reached down a room key from the board behind him then placed the key on the counter. "Five crowns for the room - they're good 'n' clean. And Pian is still tradin' from his old barn in Smith Street." he answered. He did not stare at Jael, but it was clear he found her colouring strange too.
"Hold the key, please." Jael answered in her lilting accent. "Just one moment."
Jael turned and wound her way back to the table she had fallen against but a few moments before. As she approached they didn't seem to notice her, emersed in their discussion.
Jael sat down boldly next to one of the men. She ignored the stares from the other two. She quickly brought out her palm knife and tapped its exquisetly crafted blade casually on the table.
"I'll be having my money back." she spoke directly to the thief. "It was hard earned and I need it." she continued in a conversational tone.

Kage raised an eyebrow. Back in the day, he would've tried to convince her that he had not stolen it, but she was honest, and obviously not just some ignorant noble, "My apologies. Old habits die hard."
He handed her money pouch back.

"Thank you." Jael answered, ever courteous. "I must admit, you are skilled above most. I would normally have noticed immediately. I see you are not merely a petty thief. I have something to ask of you. I am looking for work, do you know of anyone currently hiring for an acceptable wage? I can turn my hand to anything."

:She caught you fair and square, Rin answered with a mental grin, :I say we she if she interested. No details at the moment though.
She then leaned forward on the table to get the girl's attention.
"As a matter of fact," she said, "We might be needing some help ourselves."

"Oh yes?" Jael answered the young woman, half interested. "What sort of work? I am a blade for hire, I can cook, I am a horse breaker. Anything."

"Well ... at the moment, we're in need of your blade," Rin said, with a glance at Kage, "We're trying to acquire a dagger. It was recently stolen from the Temple of the Silent Breeze." She explained.

:I'll take care of it, Kage replied back to Rin.
"You'll get some money," Kage said to the woman, "Not sure how much yet, but you'll get your cut. What did you say your name was?"

"My name is Jael." she answered simply. 'Some money? This doesn't sound very promising. My cut? What are they up to?' Jael thought to herself, looking the trio up and down, critically assessing their wear. Perhaps this was a mistake. They didn't look hard up but they weren't exactly the usual wealthy types that hired her. However looks could be deceiving. Something highly unusual was going on as far as she was concerned.
"May I ask what the job is? This is not a usual method of hire. Will I be riding flank on a caravan of some sort? Or escorting you and your lady somewhere?"

"Well, I'd assume most of your work is solo work, huh?" Kage asked, "If we hired you, it'd just be as another person to help us. Either way, we're gonna do it, so it's up to you if you want to join us. I'm Kage, by the way."

Jael shrugged. Her curiosity, despite herself, was roused.
"You have a blade." she answered. "However I must insist my employment does not start until tomorrow. I am in need of a wash and fresh clothes, and I must see a man about a horse."
She rose gracefully and inclined her head respectfully. "I will meet you here at breakfast. Good afternoon." and she strode back to the bar to secure her room key. With barely a glance at her new companions, Jael left the Ram's Trough to pick up her belongings from the caravan she'd protected on her way to Artesan. Soon she was armed with her bag of meagre belongings, her saddle and various other gear she would not be without.
She made her way through the streets to Pian the horseman's barn - spotting its familiar roof long before she arrived at the building.
